WRITER WEEKENDS: GETTING UN-STUCK

Hi everyone!

Recently I hit a wall in my writing. I wasn't sure why- maybe it was because I was so busy with school, or maybe it was because I'd been writing so much that I burned myself out- but suddenly I had absolutely no desire to write, and my story came to a complete standstill. This slump was so bad that I didn't write anything for almost two months, and I was starting to go slightly insane. Luckily I've managed to pick myself back up, and over the past few days I've finally being working consistently on my story again. Hooray!

This is something almost every writer faces at some point, no matter how talented or motivated they are, so today I just wanted to share some ways you can help to unstick your story and start writing again...

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: DISSAPOINTING EYE CANDY

TOP 5 WEDNESDAY IS A WEEKLY MEME CREATED BY GINGERREADSLAINEY. YOU CAN FIND ALL OF THE INFORMATION IN THE GOODREADS GROUP.

Hi everyone, happy Wednesday!

Everyone's read at least one book that's amazing on the outside but kind of 'meh' on the inside, right? That's just what happens when you buy books based off of the cover instead of researching it (at least, that's what I do). This week's topic for Top 5 Wednesday is Disappointing eye candy, AKA books with gorgeous covers that just didn't deliver what you wanted.

To set things straight, I do NOT hate all of these books. In fact, I really enjoyed a couple of them. I just don't like their stories as much as I liked their covers.

On a scale of 'actually enjoyed' to 'actively hated', here are my top 5 books that didn't live up to their covers...

PS: the formatting on this post is a little bit messed up and I don't know why. Sorry!

2016 READING GOALS! (+ INSTAGRAM?)

Hi everyone! Congratulations on getting through Monday.

My mock exams are finally over (*insert angels singing here*), which means it's time to finally catch up on all the posts I was supposed to write right back at the start of January! Today, as kind of a sequel to yesterday's 2016 writing goals, I just wanted to quickly share some of the goals I want to achieve in my reading this year.

Before that, I have a very (well, not really) exciting announcement. I'm on Instagram now! And I'm obsessed with it! I never thought this would happen, but apparently I am not strong enough to resist the lure of the instagram. You can follow me @mia.in.narnia for pictures of cool books and other stuff.

WRITERS WEEKENDS: 2015 RECAP AND 2016 GOALS

Hi everyone,

Long time no see! I've been really busy with school recently, which is why this post is going up near the end of January instead of at the very start of the year when it was supposed to. Luckily my mock exams are over now, and I finally have time to get this post written. Yay!

TV TALK: 'SHADOWHUNTERS' EPISODES 1 AND 2

Hi everyone!

In case you weren't aware, the first two episodes of SHADOWHUNTERS, ABC family's (or freeform or whatever they're called now) TV adaptation of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series, were released this Tuesday. I'm a huge Cassandra Clare fan, so of course I've been highly anticipated this show ever since they announced they were making it, and...well...I have thoughts. LOTS of thoughts.

2015 READING WRAP UP!

Happy New Year everyone!

2015 is over, and for my first post of the new year I want to look back on the books that I read. I had a pretty good reading year, despite encountering reading slumps and all kinds of crazy real-life things, and I'm quite proud of how my statistics look overall!

Without further ado, here is my year in books...

NOTE: Most of this information comes from my goodreads account. You can add me as a friend on goodreads here :)
